That's so sad. Obviously we don't know what caused the accident but I was out driving last night and it was very icy. My car was all over the place it was quite frightening. I wonder whether ice had anything to do with it. Very sorry for the family.

From the description and my experiences with SYFR I would speculate that there may have been a medical cause for the sudden swerving of the vehicle & subsequent incident.

I won't speculate as to what that medical cause may have been.

Mods - Feel free to remove this if you think that it may cause offence/upset.

There is a car upside down, but police have been down talking to someone in the car, so maybe not as bad as it could be!

Luckily, it is never as bad as it could be, unless of course it is, in which case we would not know about it.

I have just learned of this tragic death.

Although I have not seen him for a while, I knew this person,

(he christened me Tinpan).

He was a great guy, the life and soul of the party and fun to be with.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

yes very sad indeed. just wonder if it was surface ice on the road.. I have just posted elsewhere as i had an accident last night in stradbroke.

I doubt it very much, I suggest you read Resident's post with which I agree having been a police officer for a number of years.

Driving is (relatively speaking) a dangerous activity, many people get injured or even killed. What`s unfortunate is that most drivers, especially the petrolheads, don`t want to hear this, or don`t believe it, till they read about a serious accident. Even then most think "it`ll never happen to me".

I can remember years go being involved in a thread on road safety and I mentioned that sometimes when I get home from a long trip in the car, as I switch off the engine on my drive, I think at least we got home without having an accident, something that concerns me frequently. Incredibly this guy, because it would have been a bloke, came on saying if I really did get that concerned about having an accident I shouldn`t be on the road because I must be so lacking in confidence !

Unbelievable, but true. Says it all really

Such a sad loss. Lamby we will hold you close within our hearts. All our thoughts are with Linda, and Eddie and the rest of the family. He was a true star. He'll continue to shine down on us. Rest in peace Richard.

I Dont really follow what you're trying to say, but this accident was almost certainly nothing to do with the driver's attitude, sadly its more likely that he passed out from a heart attack or some other medical condition, whilst driving and this led to the crash.

Very very sad.
