onlineo Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I have a green lens defy running 2.2. The phone has to be reset every day because it runs so slowly that it freezes. I have tried deleting things moving things to sd card etc, but this seems to have no real affect. I have heard that 2.3 works really well and would love to get it onto my phone. I tried in July and managed to brick the phone, luckily t-mobile sent me a new one for free. I have spent far too many hours trying to put any version of 2.3 on it this week but none have been successful. I have tried following many instructions but I have never been able to complete any fully as there is always a step or two that I can't do, as the options do not appear in my menu's! I seem to have lost my camera viewfinder and the ability to watch videos since I have been trying to update it! If anyone living in or near Sheffield and could help me get Gingerbread on my Defy I would happily travel to there home or work. Thanks alex
sidbobs Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Which part are you getting stuck at? Have you already rooted your defy? Do you have 2nd init/custom recovery flashed yet?
onlineo Posted December 9, 2011 Author Posted December 9, 2011 Thats a good question Im not really sure. I have 2nd init on it, I have put a 2.3 nandroid on it but I am now stuck, Im not sure if I have done everything correctly. Thanks Alex
stimpy Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 replied to your PM fella. dont use a nandriod to install. You need the CM7 zip file.
onlineo Posted December 9, 2011 Author Posted December 9, 2011 Thanks everyone I am 90% of the way there
stimpy Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Thanks everyone I am 90% of the way there 90% still isn't right. I would start again. Mine worked perfectly straight after flashing, there isn't one part that doesn't work in cm7. You will also have to flash the gapps zip to install the google stuff iirc as it isn't included in the cm7 zip but don't quote me on that, it's been a while since I flashed mine.....
