sheff66 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Apparently according to Fanhouse attracting interest from Huddersfield and some Premier League clubs . Going to be an extremely interesting January although in my opinion Huddersfield are just playing the game ahead of next week.
Stockers Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 It seems Marshall could be playing at a higher level come January, i must admit he was your standout player in the derby match (even his long throw will be a big miss for the Owls); http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/owls_boss_fears_exit_of_loan_stars_1_4044992

Let's hope MM puts his hand in his pocket and tries to buy him. It would certainly show his intent if he did.

I'm not sure if it'll be down to putting his hand in his pocket, if a Championship or Premiership team come in for him then surely the lad is going to want to test himself and progress his career. This is the problem with loan players, you can't become reliant on them.
sportsvoice Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Massively frustrating but this is the way it is with football, Marshall is a good player and Sheffield Wednesday have pretty much put him back in the shop window and back on the radar for bigger clubs. I completely expect him to go to a championship team now unfortuantely for you.

Stockers Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 All very true, sadly. Thats the down side of loans, it was the same with us with Phillips, he was low on confidence, out of the team at Blackpool and not scoring goals. He came to us got 6 goals and has been a revelation since going back to his parent club. Loan systems for parent clubs are a no brainer, a player goes out and gets games / experience. There is no reason Marshall can't go back to Stoke and compete for a place in the first team (i'd never even heard of the lad until this season), they could let him continue his development at Wednesday or he could test himself at a Championship club. My guess would be he's an ambitious lad and will want to test himself in a higher division.
CorkerSWFC Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 On the other side of the coin, look where he's helped us to while he has been here. Theres not only Wednesday who will be losing players in January, Huddersfield look like been raided and United themselves will see a few outs, not sure with Charlton i don't know the situation down there but everyone is gonna lose out, it depends who replaces these players the best, and Megsons signings in general have been spot on.
Stockers Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Spot on....and you cant blame him neither. On the plus side it allows players such as Marshall and Phillips to showcase their undoubted skills at our respective clubs. I bet Northampton were gutted when Kyle Walker was recall from his loan spell by the Blades, look at him now!
