The Sheffield derby 1979 (Hillsborough)

Recommended Posts

did you attended.........i flippin did,i remember there was no buses that day so we set off walking,on city road a bloke pulled up and ask if we wanted a lift,he dropped us off right at the back of the kop....you couldn't move for swines..we made a quick jog round to the leppings lane end the match is a bit of a blur but i think we lost:) (slightly) and then i got chinned by a big black bloke on pennistone road.......well i was only 16 and this bloke was a right muncher.so all in all it was a pretty **** day.

just a point: we were 8 points clear at the top of the league and wed were nowhere.....we finished mid table and they went up.......:|

I was there Kirky but it was a great day for me! I even finished up with this lass I'd been after for ages later on. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven ! I don't think today will be as good though mate, as long as our lot keep it to 3 I'll be happy (for obvious reasons)

Was that the match when Wednesday kept scoring the goals one after the other.

I was there on the Kop grunting away.

One of the best days ever.

Those were the days when you did not need a bank loan to go to the match.

The season ticket for the Kop cost £14.

I was the only Wednesdayiite in the family, 3 sons and husband all Unitediites.

United were bound to win.

Back they came from the match, the 12 yr old saying as he walked past me " don't say a word "

What was the score Kirky 4- 0
