Not as nice as it used to be a few years ago,.but the houses are nice some of them have big yards, go and have a look at the house I think if the house is OK it dos not matter where it is,there seems to be problems on most of the council estates from time to time,Iv'e lived around here for 30 years and I have seen a lot of changes.

me, my partner and 2 girls have lived on shiregreen all our lives and on sicey avenue for the past 5 years and love our house and neighbours, all i would say to you is that it is same as any council estate in this day and age with good points and bad points but we are happy where we are and intend to stay here for a long time to come

IMO if you want social housing you should take whats given to you, if you turn it down you should be put to the back of the que, even more so if your on priority.

Look, none of these areas are particularly good - you must know that already. Council estates and social housing are home to some pretty disruptive and dysfunctional characters. Having said that - it is only a minority as usual that spoil it for the rest and there will be some very nice people there as well no doubt.

I'd always go and take a good look around the area at different times of day and see what's going on. If this house is in an area where gangs of young kids are congregating on a regular basis then I'd avoid it.

But having said that - Bonjon has a point.
