Rich Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Topic. I'm going to put some songs on my S2 tonight, but is there any software I can download which is free and legal (I work for SYP so I can't do anything naughty) to manage my music on the phone?
neeeeeeeeeek Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Android top ten apps are 10p at the moment and I think one of them is some sort of Itunes type thing.
Rich Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 I can't pay for apps, Android Marketplace doesn't do Maestro cards
neeeeeeeeeek Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 What's the point in having such a good phone if you can't download any apps?! How is your bill paid? Can't you get someone else to set up an account for you?

Also, I can download free apps, just not paid for ones.

EbonyBranch Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Winamp, PowerAmp, DoubleTwist or Spotify are all good, free apps. All have paid 'pro' upgrade options, but are the basic versions are free to install and use. I stopped using the stock music app a few months ago because it kept crashing the phone - there was some kind of bug around at the time, affected quite a few people. I mostly use Winamp for music and PowerAmp for podcasts and other spoken word. PowerAmp can be set to resume playing as soon as headphones are plugged in, so I can pick up a podcast where I left off, while Winamp is great for when I want to play music without losing my place in a podcast - I just turn off PowerAmp and turn on Winamp. Spotify is good, great for streaming new music, but it does drain the battery faster than most other music apps (probably because it's a music streaming service). Doubletwist is also good, I have it installed and still use it ocassionally. It's about the same as Winamp.

Ghozer Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I just drag and drop via "My Computer" - I stick them in folders that I want them in... why bother with additional software!
