Bobgok23 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 This is a thought provoking video how times have changed We, I think, have forgotten the police are our servants, public servants, not the states storm troopers. Most individual police officers are good, but that's there job, the police as a service however is another matter.
truman Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Aren't they a police "force" as opposed to a service?

Bobgok23 Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 The police are not, and never have been, "our servants". That's simply is incorrect.
truman Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Nope, it's a service. Not according to "direct gov." http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Diol1/DoItOnline/DG_4017959

No, they are there to uphold the law and keep order - protecting people and property, not to serve you!
MrMoran Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 The modern police are by and large an utter disgrace. I remember our old beat bobby from my childhood days (PC Whitaker), the days when you had to be that little bit special to get into the force and he was a world away from the thugish bullys we have today.

I take it you are still upset about being arrested.
spooky3 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 ... a world away from the thugish bullys we have today. Are you referring to the Police or the uneducated, very demanding, whining, thieving, drugged up direspectful youth of today?
