Pathetic Town Christmas Tree

I went into town last night for the first time since the christmas lights were turned on and I have to say what a pathetic attempt at Christmas lights and decorations the council have lumbered us with this year.

I used to love doing my shopping around town as the atmosphere was brilliant, especially last year with the market in the peace gardens but this year it seems a big let down.

Worst of all is that pathetic excuse for a chrismas tree outside the town hall, it looks like a huge bush with lights on it, forgive me but are christmas trees traditionally a pyramid shape?????

This year we all could have done with a bit of Christmas cheer but oh no not in Sheffield. Come on council we are all suffering from job losses, wage freezes, pension reductions. We are doing more work for less money and having to pay out more but please dont take Christmas away from us to.

There's another thread about this where somebody said the tree came from Poland and AB responded looks looks more like it came from Poundland:hihi::hihi::hihi:

Sorry I agree and I don't! After having to fight the council earlier this year to keep my son's residential home open I'm afraid I'm glad that they are spending less on non-essential stuff like Christmas decorations. I'm sorry because I like it too but I suppose we have all got to prioritise. They have only got so much money in the budget and my family won't go into crisis by having less decorations in Sheffield.
