Before prepared baby food and blenders there was ?

I was a Cow & Gate baby.

 

Now I`m addicted to Fussels and Carnation milk.

I had my first baby in 1962 fed on Cow and Gate rusks, cereal and small tins of veg and meat and fruit etc.

Best pud was a chocolate saurce in the tins.

I loved the chocolate pudding It was a case of one for me and one for you.I also gave my son Farex for breakfast,and Ostermilk.Also Slippery Elm Food.

Remamber my Mom saying babies were fed Nestles milk let down with water.

which must be over 70 years ago

 

I think 65 or 70 years ago they breastfed their babies till they were a year old, by then they had all their teeth to chew things. Do you remember in the 60s those tin's of baby food, the dessert one, banana's with rice was yummy.

Don't ask how I know :blush: I don't think they would miss a spoon or two, do you. :D

Yes I know what you mean, I've got 2 sons that are a pain in the neck :roll:

Our daughter made up for them though, she's perfect :D

This will sound gross, but during the war my great grandmother used to pre-chew whatever food we had from the rations and feed it to the babies.

 

Actually saw this when I was 5, or so!

I can also remember when this was done,sounds gross but I don't think The babies cared

I can imagine the squeamish reacting to that but to my mind it's only the same as breastfeeding. How did we get this far? Breastfeeding and a form of regurgitation.
