MrMoran Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Im expecting a replacement monitor this week and ive had an email from USPS?? It has a zipped attachment which ive scanned and seems safe but on opening the attachment theres a .exe file. Now call me suspicious but why would USPS be sending me an exe file if im only suposed to be printing it out and taking it to my 'local' usps office? Its a virus, right???

Sounds very dodgy, can you not contact the postal service or the company that you purchased it from just to clarify things?

Im glad im not the only one who thinks its odd. Im going to be getting in touch with samsung this morning. See what they have to say. Until i know for sure ive deleted the file and wont be downloading the attachment again until i know its safe.
medusa Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Have a Google for the file name that's attached and you'll probably find that it's associated with a nasty. These days if you ring most parcel delivery places the first thing that their automated phone system says is 'don't open any files sent to you by email because we do not contact people by email with attachments', so I'd be surprised if this was genuine.
