You mean that the working people did not have a bean

No, I don't. The country as a whole went bankrupt in the seventies; we had to take bailouts from the IMF, and they had some very harsh conditions attached.

Why was he a hypocrite ?..if that is the case why should any heads of organisations be paid more than their workforce ,Scargill was head of the largest union in the country and as such held responsibility for his members ..should he have been paid the same as a worker in the pits whose only responsibility was to his immediate family.I just hope its ignorance of the times on your part and not crass stupidity.

My guess is that he is not ignorant of the times.;)

Are you telling me then that all the multi millionaires with all the inherited wealth were bankrupt, or was it just everyone else?

I repeat. I'm not referring to people. The country as a whole went bankrupt.

There weren't many rich people left once Labour had upped the highest rate of tax to more than 100 per cent. Most of them had the good sense to move their money elsewhere.

So you are telling me that the very long established wealthy families who have passed money from generation to generation for centuries were suddenly skint?

If we had a leader like Scargill today we could kick the tory butt right out of office!

Please enlighten the massed congregation as to who would Govern us.

Lib/Dems never ever.

Tory's apparently you don't rate them.

NEW LIEbour Bliar, Bottler Brown and now Milllybore, unelectable.

So who do we vote for, BNP maybe, or the monster raving looney party, the choice is not very good is it.

Regards

Angel.

We need a workers party to run the country. The people who earn the countries wealth should be in charge.

How much do you contribute then?

And what's your take on the global economic situation?

I contribute my very useful skills to this country.

My take on the economic situation is that it was caused by bankers and politicians and it is only when we wrestle the power from them that the world can improve.
