Hedgehog50 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Have they given them any sort of indication when this is going to happen?

barmyowls Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Only found out about this after i was asked to sign a petition to stop it closing anyone know any more details on why they wanting to close it etc
Mercurian Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Old people are under attack. It has been happening for around two years now. It does not get much publicity. The services for the very old are being cut severely. They are old and thus have no real voice. They are easy targets for governments of this ilk.
POPSIE Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Hazlehurst at Jordanthorpe is up for closure too These 2 centres provide a well needed service for the vunerable elderley people in sheffield they are both rehabilitation centres which provide physio and quality care to people who have had a stay in hospital due to falls etc . By using the facilities at these two resource centres the beds are freed up hence allowing the hospital to do more operations etc etc .The trouble is the council dont broadcast it to the public and let people air their views until its too late its a crying shame .Hopefully the sheffield people will maybe voice their opinions once they have read this post .

The councils are being very sneaky indeed in the way that they are removing services for the elderly. They know that it is a contentious issue so they are stripping old people of their services (and with it sometimes their dignity) in a very secretive manner. The services are being reduced gradually bit by bit in the hope that it will not be noticed.

Becky B Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 They're doing it in Barnsley as well. It's to do with money (when is it not?!).
