Had an accident need help

Hi guys

I need some help i had an accident near spital hill before the bridge. I was going to city centre when i reached the traffic signals (end of the spital hill road) i found out that traffic signals were not working.

I stopped there and carefully checked left right when every thing was cleared then i drove off the car but suddenly the bus coming from wicker (turning right) hit my car.

My car badly damaged from driver side bumper wing indicator etc damaged, i am also badly shaken and feeling pain in my right arm and neck.

Obviously i rang my claim company and they said that the other party at fault as i was going straight ahead.

Just need your opinion because traffic signals were not working both sides

Thanks

Didn't think buses (or anyone for that matter) COULD turn right (presumably along Saville Street) from the Wicker?

Don't see how you insurers can give an opinion as they were not there,in these cases it's down to due diligence .Then other driver will swear blind you where at fault, your both in a lose, lose situation unless you have witnesses

Good luck with it, the bus companies really hate paying out, as i found several years back when a bus crashed into my car, parked in a lay-by.

Two things don't ring quite true about this -

1 if there's been an accident involving injury, the Police should be called

2 if there's been an accident involving a bus, the Police should be called

I'm still confused

I have just spoken to my insurer and they said that because you were going straight ahead and the other vehicle turning right so does not matter if traffic signals were working or not, its their fault
