S9_OWL Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop that just refuses to charge. A few moths ago the A/C charger stopped working, so I purchased a new one and it had been working ok, but recently it started coming up with a message 'cannot recognise a/c charger type' and on the battery meter read 'plugged in - not charging'. I had been able to run it ok by leaving it plugged in to the mains, but I went and let the battery run out and now it wont turn on or charge at all Now when I plug the charger in, the battery indicator light flashes red 3 times then blue, over and over again. Im guesing this must be an error code, but I just cannot find what it means. I have bought another new A/C adaptor (genuine) and still no luck. If anybody can help or point me in the right direction that would be much much appreciated!!

S9_OWL Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 Thanks! I'd posted something on the dell frorum but wasn't getting any joy. So it looks like could either be my battery, or the socket. The only differance on mine is I can't get it to work even if I leave it plugged in or with the battery removed. If it turns out to be the socket, im guesing thats a rather expensive job ):
WallBuilder Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Does sound like it's the socket at fault andam sure any reputable computer shop would be able to give you a price for the work before touching it. Recently had a Toshiba go wrong which cost £45 and then a Fujitsu which cost me £30 so we're not talking mega bucks to repair power sockets
