DenadaInnit Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I took notes into an interview as a memory jogger. Feedback was that I was overprepared ... A friend of mine received feedback of being 'too smart' as in wearing her interview suit. Care to share yours?
Chez2 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Not having a degree! My CV stated the date I was due to sit my final exams and the overall grade I was expecting. I wonder if they read my CV?
medusa Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I was told I was too tall at one interview, which is a bit of a bummer, since my height is something that's not relevant to my job skills and I can't change it.
Cyclone Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 You're lucky to get any feedback at all, a lot of places just never make contact again if they aren't taking it any further.
medusa Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I have always asked for feedback at the end of the interview, as I've always seen it as my only opportunity to get a proper opinion.
xfox3x Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 My accent was too 'Yorkshire'. This was for a promotion in the area I was already in. I asked if I could have it writing that a Yorkshire accent was unacceptable when dealing with Yorkshire people (my accent isn't that broad anyway as my mum is Liverpudlian and a lot of people think I'm from Lancashire) and then she said 'Well...really it's because your English skills are not up to it' ....'You ask me to do all the business propositions as you say I'm the best at it '......'Errrr...' I'd already informed them after the interview that I wanted to withdraw my application as, on reflection, I had decided that the job wasn't what I wanted, but she was determined to tell me my failings!
Ron Burgundy Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 A friend has just been turned down for promotion as she "thinks a little too much".......
Tradescanthia Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 A friend has just been turned down for promotion as she "thinks a little too much"....... Some firms cant deal with people who think. We should all be robots and do as we are told.
DenadaInnit Posted December 9, 2011 Author Posted December 9, 2011 I was told I was too tall at one interview, which is a bit of a bummer, since my height is something that's not relevant to my job skills and I can't change it. I think you win the prize for the lamest excuse! I've just remembered something else from my interview. I was asked 'what would your colleages say about you'. I said that they would say that I was enthusiastic, positive, good team member and a good motivator. The interviewer said, 'but these are all positive things' .....
Scozzie Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I was asked to confirm in an interview that I was in a long term relationship and didn't have kids.........yet. Bah!! I cant HAVE kids. Didn't get the job though. I hope it went to one of those caring guys who takes the maximum amount of paternaty leave allowed.
