Does anybody know roughly how much it would cost to fit an engine in a Citroen saxo, it will be a used engine from a scrappers. Or could recommend a good cheap mechanic that could do it

There not complicated and can easily have the old engine out and new unit fitted in 4 hours !

less than a day easy my brothers a mechanic ive never known him to take longer than a day on any engine £100 to £200 no probs

Ive got a mechanic friend coming out to take a look at the car to see what the exact problem is, AA said the current engine looks seized but ive been told it could be something else.

its a saxo. throw it away and buy something thats worthwhile repairing if it goes bang.

The original post was from 2011, chances are that Saxo is rusting quietly in the corner of a breakers yard by now. They seem to have vanished off the roads in the last few years, even the boy racers have moved on.

I was thinking the other day actually when I saw a Saxo on the road that you don't see many around any more, similarly with Pug 106s and the like. That said, plenty of older Fiestas seem to be knocking about.
