travelbore Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Naturally we all know that the city is built on industry and manufacturing, with most of these companies now long gone or owned by foreign consortiums, I would like the memories of the types of things that were, and are still, made in Sheffield.

Janner Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Sheffield is still recognised. A bar tender in San Francisco , asked where did I come from. When I said Sheffield, he said "Thats where they make steel & cutlery".

I once had a couple of drinks with Bo Diddley he asked where my funny accent was from i told him Sheffield , he replied Oh that's Joe,s town.[ Cocker] So i suppose the accent is unique and made in Sheffield.
