Mrs Overall Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I'm a member of a small private forum, when i'm logging in the admin says that Ive got 7/8 "guests" logging in with me. Ive had my laptop looked at they cant see anything the matter with it, my security is up to date. Its not doing it on another forum i go on, i'm wondering if i could find out if its doing it on here? The admin on the forum say they cant find anything, though they aren't really computer savvy Any ideas folks...
sccsux Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Any ideas folks... Search engines/bots? Do you not log all visitors? If yes, the IP of the "guests" should be listed which you can perform a whois look up of and find out who owns the IP.

Thanks for that, but the admin say the guests are logging in with the same ISP as me meaning Sky??
sccsux Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Thanks for that, but the admin say the guests are logging in with the same ISP as me meaning Sky?? In that case, it would probably be a lag in the log creation SW that isn't being updated after you log in. What script is the site running? Thanks for that, but the admin say the guests are logging in with the same ISP as me meaning Sky?? Same ISP != same IP. Maybe there are a few "guests" that are using Sky as their ISP?
Mrs Overall Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 Déjà vu? ... Yes i know ive posted regarding this before and i explained to the admin, but they seem to think its some fault on my laptop.. even though its not happening on other forums i go on..

Then the admin are wrong and you should have just bumped up your original thread
Rich Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Then the admin are wrong and you should have just bumped up your original thread On most forums, the Mods don't like it when you "bump" threads, as it's classed as spamming...
sidbobs Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 On most forums, the Mods don't like it when you "bump" threads, as it's classed as spamming... The other thread was still on the first page of this section, I'm sure 0742Sheff meant the OP should have replied on that thread instead of making another for the same issue....which the mods don't like.

When i said bumped, i meant bumping it by adding the new info from this OP. I've administrated 2 forums and moderated 2 more Rich. I don't need teaching how to suck eggs.
