I had to have my darling Great Dane Sophie put to sleep last night as her heart was finally giving out. I know I did the right thing but I feel numb - and so close to losing Ascot on Saturday.

Sophie you were the most loving, kind, sweet, gentle giant and always there for me. You were my big baby and I will miss you terribly - you were one in a million

Run free at the bridge with Ascot, Blue and all the other precious fur babies we've lost-our home will never be the same again.

Oh I'm so sorry :( She was absolutely beautiful and reached a good age for a Great Dane, didn't she.

I love danes... my only excuse for never wanting to own one was their lifespan... but then I lost a Jack Russell at the age of 1 year at the weekend and am now rethinking that one.

I can see she was a great friend to you and I'm so sorry you had to lose her. Look out for my little one up there Sophie, he LOVED big dogs x

Wasn't she beautiful! (I have a soft spot for Great Danes and always make a beeline when we see one on walks with the doberbeast). I'm so sorry you've had to handle two painful losses and in so short a time Foxy. She made a great age too. Thinking of you and know Sophie will be bounding across to join all our wonderful furry, feathered, finned and scaled companions over at Rainbow Bridge xK
