derfblade Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 i was sat watching bonanza when it suddenly went to a news bulletin that jfk had been shot. can you remember what you were doing and how you heard?
janie48 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 i was in a coffee bar. someone shouted it out.everyone was shocked. the next day people around you seemed quite upset and everyone seemed to be talking about it.as if it was someone you knew personally.it does seem strange now that it had that kind of affect.i would compare it to the death of princess diana in the way it affected the nation.although i don't think people were as emotionally expressive at that time as they have since become.

docmel Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I was at a cub scout fete or something at Eversley House in Upperthorpe. . Remember a man coming in and mentioning to another bloke that he had just heard on the news that Kennedy had been shot. Didn't think much about it only being 10 or so until I got home and it was on the news.
harvey19 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I was at home and my grandfather came on and said he thought it could be the start of a war like the assasination that started WW!.

PCInfield Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Doing my homework whilst listening to Radio Luxembourg. They played solemn classical music for the rest of the night. More appropriate than BBC TV. They made an announcement, then carried on with normal programmes-Harry Worth!
janie48 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 More appropriate than BBC TV. They made an announcement, then carried on with normal programmes-Harry Worth! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GPs3EtCNwI they did things differently then. how different is shown on this link. proves though there was a lot of disruption to programmes--and more to come in the days ahead.
