Digital Camera Help

Hi all,

 

I want to get my girlfriend a digital camera for Christmas. She currently has some oldish Lumix, but I am not keen and she is not either.

 

I was to spend around £150. Would like it to be a bit cool and girly. Canon Powershot?

 

Any help appreciated.

There's more to this than just funds. It's about what features you're looking for and what size thing she'll be willing to carry around.

I know. She wants something compact that can actually take decent quality. A snap and shoot! Hence me looking at compact Canon ones! No DSLR's cheers

Panasonic Lumix range are good for the money as well. Wouldn't touch a Toshiba camera, the Samsungs I've had before have been sub-par. Fujifilm make good compact cameras.

 

Don't get hung up on MPixel value. Higher does not always equal better (cramming lots of pixels onto a small sensor just means you have small pixels, therefore less sensitive).

 

Look for something with a wide angle lens, cameras like this often get used indoors and being able to fit everyone in shot without having to send 20ft back is always good!

I have looked at the Canon's and they seem to be pretty good for the money, plus stylish!
