trademaster Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Im getting a scooter soon and i live in a joint row of houses. there is no way i can get to the back yard from the front with out bringing it in the house. so my plan is to get two wall mounts for each wheel and chain it to the wall out front but i live in front of some flats what have lets say some not so nice people in them eg drug uses and common chavs. so as i said im planning to get two wall mounts for each wheel and chain them to the wall but really whats the odds of someone nicking this after i pay over a £1000 pound for it and everything PLEASE HELP ME ps if you or you know anyone selling a scooter for less then £400 please contact me asap on 07977726653 ask for shaun
Total Chaos Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Put a cheap CCTV camera up and looking at your bike as a possible deterrent.A mate of mine used to keep his at the back of his garage and then sandwich it in with his missus car. They broke in the garage, lifted the scooter and carried it over the car and passed it over his 6ft back wall, onto the snicket.
highflyerjak Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Erm well I certainly wouldn't leave it in the front yard on display for a start...no matter how well protected it is if the scumbags want it they WILL have it! Tyres punctured/slashed, plastic casing kicked and cracked will just be the start if you put it on display!

highflyerjak Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Chain a pitbull to it... Most 'creatures' that roam Low Edges/Lowedges seem to have one chained to them....
Unitedite Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Why not keep it in the house? That's what I do with my motorbike ever since it was stolen (and fortunately recovered just down the road) - used to be on a heavy bike chain in the back garden but that didn't stop them taking it one evening while I was in the house! There's no way I'd leave a scooter at the front of my house and I don't even live near any dodgy flats.

Take it in or don't get one. Sad isn't it, society makes us fear having a little luxury :-(
clublander Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Probably best not to advertise it on SF I'd have thought?
