Cycleracer Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Does anyone know who the woman is. I.ve seen her a few times always at night wailing as if she is in deep distress. She doesn't seem to be aware of her surroundings as she was in the middle of the road at a couple of sightings. She almost collapses with grief. I saw her tonight near Scott Rd in a phone box doing the same thing. She is scruffy looking with blonde hair prob about 50 though could be younger. She definitely needs help.
Bludragonfly Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 If you are worried perhaps consider calling the Police if you see her again

Opalsky Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Sounds like a very sad situation. I hope she gets some help asap.
craigpugh Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Yes, dont be worried about calling the police, if she is as risk of harm they will get help for her, and you won't get into any trouble and could be saving someone's skin- you'd hope someone would do the same if you fell on bad luck. You can use the non 999 number - 2 20 20 20. They will ask you for your name but if you feel weird giving it you can just politely say so and they wont mind.

When I was younger and lived with my parents,we had a nieghbour who wailed at night outside and in her garden. It frightened the life out of us (my brothers and sister) but we were assured by our mum, that she was just very ill,and when we questioned why no one would come and help her ,my mum told us that she was an alcoholic and didnt want any help.It was really sad to se , obviously eventually she died, and that was the end of that, but very very sad to see and hear someone sounding so distressed. Maybe the woman who you see could be suffering from a similar illness.
gnomi Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 She may be a patient from the Longley Center, in which case the police would return her. Poor woman
Cycleracer Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 i believe she is a ghost!!! What you on about anyway I think its drink or drugs although she could be mentally unstable. Don't think I would like to go near her to be honest. I don't think you could communicate with her either. The police must be aware of her as she is in this state everytime I see her.
molar Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 You can use the non 999 number - 2 20 20 20.. 101 has replaced 2202020 as the non-emergency number since 4th November. http://www.southyorks.police.uk/101
