Is honesty always the best policy?

I have been employed by the same company 9 years. i was the victim.of a serious sexual assault by a work colleague. i have been.off sick.since may and now feel ready.to find alternative new employment. should i tell the truth as to why i am leaving?

Well, in your case, I would say honesty is definitely the best policy. A crime has been committed against you and you shouldn't have to be in this position. Report it and get the help and support you need.

yes, for me it is no matter what. I'd rather be quiet than lie......being honest gives a person a priceless inner peace of mind.....and u dont have to keep track of your lies.

Work are fully aware of the situation. they held their own investigation. their result was keep us both employed but to work in different areas of the building and to have set times for the kitchen toilet canteen etc so as to not bump.into each other. i point blank refused to adhere to this. the police are involved and are still investigating. i just wasnt sure what to say if i got an interview somewhere. it has left me lacking confidence and self esteem. i am now classed as highly depressed suffering with anxiety and have pathalogical skin picking disorder.

Have the criminal proceeding re the sexual assault been sucessfully concluded?
