My 14 year old wants a job - any ideas?

Recommended Posts

My 14 year old wants to earn some money but where and how can a 14 year old earn these days apart from a paper round? Any ideas?

I would have thought paper round was the obvious one.

If not, then babysitting is the other traditional job for that age, most people

would really appreciate a trustworthy hand with childcare occasionally.

Gone are the days when you could do seasonal work in the fields and deliver milk, so they can’t do what I did, apart from the papers.

With respect, not sure if anyone would think a 14 year old capable of babysitting.

Your having a laugh, £2 a post, and £5 for every topic we start, how much do you want?

When I was 12 years of age I was "working" every evening and weekends on a local farm, up to the age of 20 when I got married. Taught me much about the life of animals and growing of crops.

I suspect "elf & safety" would go pale these days at been left to plough a field at 14 with tractor and plough.

Wonder if your lad may fancy this farming lark, ask around you never know till you ask.

Regards

Angel.
