Locarno - Palm Trees

Recommended Posts

Can anyone remember when the Locarno on London Road changed its name and interior design by having palm trees dotted around ?

I seem to think it was 1968 or 1969 but am not sure when.

I went there late 1970. Think it was Tiffanys then. Must have changed its name between 1964 and 1970 - I think.

I think it was 1968, I think I saw one of the last acts, The Ivy Benson Band as the Locano. Shows my age!! It then became Tiffany's, and they had a house band called New Society, featuring Pam & Eve, what became of them?

More I think about it I think it must have been 1969 but am not certain.

I remember going to the Sunday night dances in the mid 1960s.

Did it not have an upstairs room called Tree Tops, around the late 70s early 80s ?
