TeaFan Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 OK, I'm probably going to come across as very picky. This is probably because I am being very picky I don't get to play games much these days, just a 2-3 hour slot once a week. I'll soon finish Assassin's Creed 2 but don't really want to play another AC title next. Can't pay for a new game, looking at up to £15 for a used one. The last few games I've played and enjoyed have been: Prince of Persia Tomb Raider Underworld Mirror's Edge Oblivion (but I don't have the time to play Skyrim even if I could afford it) I'm tempted by LA Noire but part of me thinks that I get enough violence and despair at work so this perhaps isn't the escapism I need. Not that into FPSs. Oh, and I was tempted by Deus Ex Human Revolution but I can't stand boss levels. So, does that leave anything that I should get?
Locksley Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Of that list I'd go for Mirror's Edge, it's one of my favourite games of all time, although that does put me in a bit of a minority.
Unisol Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 GTA4? Batman Arkham Asylum? Fable 2/3? Mafia2?
Rich Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 If you like Football games, Game are selling PES6 for about 6 Quid.
L00b Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Beyond Good and Evil HD version available from xbox live arcade for a measly 800 points (about £7).
flamingjimmy Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 All the games you've mentioned apart from Oblivion have strong platforming elements with a focus on climbing, jumping around, fluidity of movement etc. With that in mind I would strongly recommend getting Batman Arkham Asylum, an absolutely fantastic game, plus it should have just seen a price drop because the sequel came out a couple of weeks ago. It's got some platforming sections, a fair bit of stealth, puzzles, and a satisfying combat system. Also, don't be put off if you're not actually that into Batman, I'm not, but the game's good enough to stand on its own.
segasonic Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Another shout for Arkham Asylum here, it's fantastic. I'd also recommend these, which can be had for cheap. Mass Effect X-Blades TMNT Dead Space Bioshock (It's an FPS but stands out)
JA5E Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 What about Red Dead Redemption? I've just picked it up for £15 brand new.
Ghozer Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Red Dead Redemption is GREAT! Mirrors Edge is GREAT! Mass Effect is good.. Fable 2 and 3 are good, but not games you can just pick up for 30 mins here and there..
