Temuchin   13 #3 Posted November 15, 2011 I've been with Origin for a few weeks now. Their heart seems to be in the right place, but I do have some concerns. Download speeds have been very variable for me - from 1.xMb upto 32Mb, but most commonly around 15Mb (figures based on downloads from Giganews). Not a showstopper, just a bit puzzling as to why I see such a wide variation.  My other concern has been lack of "customer care". I've rung in two problems now, and, in both cases, I got a "not come across this before. We'll get back to you" brush-off, and no follow-up from them. It just rankles a bit... I've PM'd you my details so I can find out a bit more and help where I can. Please get in touch. We're very passionate about people being able to choose a local alternative when it comes to broadband and phone, and one of the benefits is that you speak to local people and not go on hold for ever.  Get in touch and I'll see if we can't put things right.  Origin
 Share this content via...
Greengeek   10 #7 Posted November 16, 2011 I'm liking the fact we have some of the people from these ISP's on here.  Do you guys have any costs for activating lines, or is it the same as BT's costs?
 Share this content via...

Our Install costs are on our site, but we don't take any payments until the service is active and we can split the install costs to make it easier.  It's nice to be involved in the conversation :-)
 Share this content via...

Greengeek   10 #10 Posted November 16, 2011 Sorry for hijacking the thread...  Would either of the two ISP's who offer a free router be prepared to discount the service if the router isn't required? I use a Draytek Vigor 2820Vn and a "Free" router would be no use to me.
 Share this content via...
