Krush Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 After reading about the young cat rescued from terrible suffering with her front leg caught in her collar, i immediately checked mine, found they had no safety release, and changed them for the ones we had bought the moggies for Xmas. So today i have been on a shopping mission and found these; I AM CHIPPED COLLAR http://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/ancol-cat-i-am-microchipped-collar_1_158455.html DO NOT FEED COLLAR http://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/ancol-cat-do-not-feed-collar_1_158454.html With the number of cats going missing, i will certainly be buying these for my babies, even though the colour choice is very limited!
aldam2 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I rescued a young cat last year in the same predicament, poor love had got her front leg caught in her collar. she was quite ferral and scared, i won her trust by feeding her and managed to grap her, pin her down and quickly cut the collar off, omg it was inbedded in a huge abcess where the collar had dug in her skin rubbing it raw. To cut a long story short, i managed to win her trust again a few days later and catch her, rang the rspca and they came and picked her up, poor thing had obviously either got lost or been kicked out, I know it was a girl cos on closer inspection she had a belly full of kittens aswell. Ive since adopted a lovely ginger tom kitten and hes lost 3 collars so far, i always but the safety one and id rather keep replacing them than my cat.
