Guest sibon Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I do think wednesday are far better equipped for a challenge this season and expext them to be there abouts. . I think that this side is well equipped for the cold, wet rough pitches of December, January and February. A bit of pass and move, or a bit of hoof. The side can do either. I feel optimistic for the first time in 15 years.
CorkerSWFC Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I said it at the start and i will say it again, I would be ecstatic if we came 1st and you lot came 2nd, it would be so good for the city (putting rivalry aside for one second). It's been repeated time and time again recently by both sides that they would be quite happy with both of us going up. Let's BOTH get "on it" and gi it a real old go, one thing that makes me feel better in football is "AT LEAST GIVE IT A GOOD OLD BLAST". Both have platforms, get on that intercity 125 and show em who the real puff daddies are !!!

Heavy pitches and small squads will find a lot of teams out in the next three months, it always does. The quality of the Lane and hillsborough should stand both teams in good stead.
Lestat Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 I feel optimistic for the first time in 15 years. The unbeaten record at Hillsborough speaks volumes about Wednesday as a team to fear this season. Visiting teams already know they have a struggle before kick off. Long may it continue.
CorkerSWFC Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Heavy pitches and small squads will find a lot of teams out in the next three months, it always does. And matches been called off, there were teams with 3 and 4 games in hand, it can make it a bit of a false league at times in the winter.

Let's be honest though some of those wins at home and that last draw especially against Brentford was a little too shady for my liking, we were lucky to keep the record going. I do think a few players needed a rest, Jones and Madine were two of them and they have had just that, time to push on now.

Wednesday didn't play a game after the 18th of December unti january the 3rd last season but I can't see another winter like that one.

s2 blade Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 A little bit carried away me thinks !!! Wednesday were shocking at times yesterday against morcambe with a full strength side and still have an away problem some genuine owls tell me And united well are just as predictible as the weather and can't even man up for the last ten minutes of a game. For what its worth I think Wednesday should be easily ok for top 6 but the blades well id snap someones hand off for a top 6 finish!
