The police added their card to remember their horses and dogs who have given their lives in human conflicts. The horses at the ceremony wore red poppies and it is thought that next year the purple poppies will sit side by side with the red ones. This is not a political or disrespectful act regarding the human loss, it is a passive and peaceful way of remembering what animals have given and will continue to give in a world of conflict. The photos on the wreath say it all.
MARY POPPINS Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Thats really nice, and the animals should be remembered, for all they do and give I crotched some poppied this year and sold them for £1 each and put the money in one of the boxes, I also made some purple ones, but nobody wanted one, i wore both mine with pride, and so many people asked why I was wearing a purple one, hopefully next year people will realise why.
berlingo Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I saw that being laid and wondered why it was a different colour, now I know
