Evei Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Hello Can anyone recommend as good beginner knitter book? Looking for something with pictures as well as descriptions, I have done the very basics in the past so I'm sure it will come back to me. Fancy making some scarves and hats this year as I guess they are nice and simple to make. If you have the IBSN number too that would be great! Thanks
SMoorhouse Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Hi, I found the knitter's bible to be really good, after each thing you learn there is a project - scarf, hat and some bigger items. It also has a very good stitch library at the back of the book, I have been knitting for a while now and still refer to it.
Evei Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Thank you Will have a search on amazon for them.

Evei Posted December 12, 2011 Author Posted December 12, 2011 Finished my first easy scarf last week. Think I have got the knitting bug Though I had to undo it three times before I got it exactly how I wanted! Going to try to make something with stocking stitch next and learn to increase / decrease.
SMoorhouse Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I am glad that you are enjoying it, be careful though as knitting is addictive:hihi: Also if you choose to do the beret I used a self patterning wool and it looks really effective
