Pink2Bubble Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Sheffield Forum completed their first double of the season by beating Graduate FC at Parson Cross park. Changes for Sheffield Forum brought Joe Appleby in to the starting line up along with the return of Nathan Jenkins. Matthew Corker started on the bench and Jenkins replaced the unfortunate Scott Fraser. A slight change of formation was also Sheffield Forum started brightly in attack and defended really well. They took an early lead when Ashley Matthews slotted a ball through the defence for Liam Wales to run on to and poke past the keeper. Forum were kept in the game thanks to 2 saves as Graduate attacked in search of an equaliser and they eventually got it just before half time as a free kick was floated over and met by a centre back to head in back towards the far post. HT: Graduate 1-1 Sheffield Forum Sheffield Forum began the 2nd half brightly and went in search of the lead but also defended well when Graduate hit on the break. A change of formation and player positioning seemed to have a positive effect. Forum did re-take the lead when Liam Wales layed off the ball for Shane Middlebrook to hit his 4th of the season. Forum continued to apply pressure with the ball hitting everywhere and everyone except the back to the Graduate net. They did finally score a third, substitute Ashley Proctors shot went wild, fell to Ashley Matthews who hit a screamer to send Forum into a 3-1 lead. Forum continued to look for goals but were to concede when a free kick was awarded a yard outside the area. The free kick was scored directly going round the wall leaving the score at 3-2 to Sheffield Forum. Sheffield Forum carried on as they had done but survived a late scare when Graduate forced their way into the area but shot over the bar. FT: Graduate 2-3 Sheffield Forum Next up are Sheffield Titans at Herdings Park on 20th November.
