buck   11 #469 Posted November 15, 2011 Seems she did just that, don't see a thing wong with cutting back of freebies, I don't know of any school that gets fee milk , unless it's a special case.Didn't you get free milk as a child, Poppins? I know I did. Best part of the day. We got free lunches too during the war.
 Share this content via...
Joe-b-1   10 #470 Posted November 16, 2011 Mod NoteIf that were the case then both threads would have been closed. The other thread was closed because this one predated it, having more than one thread on the same topic is silly and there were too many overlapping posts to make a sensible merge.  But if you wish to believe it was some vast conspiracy then go right ahead.  Easy to believe when the threads aren't on exactly the same topic. Why are you shouting?
 Share this content via...

The-stig   10 #472 Posted November 16, 2011 Shouting is identified by being in CAPS LOCK, not bold italics  Interesting! I never realised I could change the volume of my messages. I know this is a little off piste but I've already said my piece about you know who and I do not wish to add any more.  So what are the rules or can we make them up:  whispering talking raised voice SHOUTING BURST BLOOD VESSELS  I just don't see where the ITALICS COME IN
 Share this content via...

Perhaps you should look it up.
 Share this content via...
The-stig   10 #474 Posted November 16, 2011 It's called internet etiquette. Perhaps you should look it up.  Perhaps you haven't.  Extract from RFC 1855 Netiquette Guidelines:   "Remember that the recipient is a human being . . . Be especially careful with sarcasm." sccsux   10 #475 Posted November 16, 2011 Do you really have nothing better to add to this thread than snide one-liners and insults?  Pot, kettle:  A predictable response though, I'll give you that much.  The blind ideological use of monetarism to run the economy.  Did you miss an "I" from there?  Bizarre.  Not bizarre, just heavy handed censorship.  The other thread was closed because this one predated it  Though it was a totally different subject, and nothing to do with milk.  Best part of the day.  I used to like it during the winter months, but truly hated the stuff during Spring and Summer (to the point where I no longer drink/use the stuff - with the exception of a small amount in tea).  I just don't see where the ITALICS COME IN  Simply for emphasis. poppins   10 #476 Posted November 16, 2011 Didn't you get free milk as a child, Poppins? I know I did. Best part of the day. We got free lunches too during the war.  Probably did get free milk back then Buck, but I still don't agree with it as now there's no end to what people want free, although wanting freebies for their children makes good conversation in the pub while sipping on their beers you're lunch during the war wasn't free you were working for it. Mecky   10 #479 Posted November 16, 2011 Fantastic woman, we could use her like today.  No need. The current Dynamic Duo of VAT Man and The Blunder are doing the UK a bad enough job as it is without her help.
 Share this content via...
The-stig   10 #480 Posted November 16, 2011 Perhaps I have I was being very careful.....and directional.  I'm not quite sure you got the point of my post and its never quite as good when one has to explain it. I was accepting the fact that block capitals was some form of etiquette and merely asking whether it goes a bit further than that in a tongue in cheek kind of way. There was no need for a sarcastic put down and your further tetchy response does indeed show you have little understanding of netiquette. Maybe a re-read RFC 1855 is necessary.
