Sideshow Bob Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 A short time ago I saw a piece on Look North about Yaelle Caplan, a young fashion designer from Sheffield who has recently set up a business in the city selling her own designed hand drawn silk scarves. When my wife saw Yaelles website she fell in love with the whole collection so I've just bought one, the Papillon Glow, for her as a Christmas gift (posting this won't spoil the surprise as she doesn't come on the forum, but I'm posting under a new ID, just in case). The prices aren't wallet busting either, especially when you consider what you are getting for your money. Immediately I opened the box I realised that, as good as the website is (and it is very good), it cannot possibly do justice to the real thing. The superb quality of the material, brilliant colours and the simply exquisite design can only be described as breathtaking. To say these scarves are beautiful woud be an understatement comparable to describing Michaelangelos Cistine Chapel ceiling as mere decoration. I felt I had to draw peoples attention to this very gifted young lady who, in my opinion, is destined for the very top of her profession. Please take a look at Yaelles website Yaelle.co.uk and be prepared to be amazed. You won't be disappointed.
KenH Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Really silly prices. Try advertising on a site where people have more money.

Sorry mate, but you're barking up the wrong tree about my post being advertising. It was simply meant to be a glowing appraisal of a top quality product, which is what I found it to be, by someone whose talent I happen to greatly admire. Don't be fooled into thinking that it's advertising because it's my first posting on the forum under this ID. I actually have over 600 posts under a previous ID. The price you pay for something is, in my experience, usually directly related to the quality of the goods, be it a car, an oven, a suit or a carpet. I wpuldn't personally slag something off as overpriced because a) I couldn't afford it or b) I could afford it, but it was more than I was prepared to spend. My rule of thumb is that if you buy cheap, it's cheap for a reason, and thats usually because it's of suspect quality.
bethyb Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I agree with the above comment. I would much rather pay for a truly unique and high quality item than pay for cheap, poor quality items that you know won't last you a life time. Also why not shout out about a very talented, creative Sheffield designer...surely that's what this whole Forum is about?
