Armistice day is not the time to be making some hair brained protest against war , its the time to show respect for the fallen men and women who lost their lives fighting for this country.

In fact Armistice day was started to ensure that the futility of war was remembered, and to try and ensure a lasting peace. It was only later it was hijacked by the British Legion.

There memorial is in the Piece Gardens ,Lets not forget them when all the wreaths are laid tomorrow .They would not be bothered what colour poppy they got only that there sacrifice in the name of International freedom is remembered.

My perception is that the red poppy is to remember those who died or were wounded in wars/conflicts.

Most soldiers, ex soldiers and relatives of the dead and wounded would want peace and so I can't see the need for white poppies.
