manofstrad Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Just heard it on Radio Sheffield. The Council are meeting on Thursday to discuss plans tow away cars that are halting the progress of roadworks, parked on clearways in busy times, and having five unpaid parking tickets. The cars will be taken to a pound and not released until a fine is payed, the original parking ticket will also have to be paid!

manofstrad Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 shhhh, excel might try this and further rip motorists off!!! They may well get the opportunity as the report said that the job of towing will be given to outside contractors!

manofstrad Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 good people might be a bit more considarate in future if it happens Make no mistake, it's definately going to happen. When it does you will be at the mercy of contractor that will gain financially from each vehicle that is towed away.
rudds1 Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Tis an easy lesson. Don't park illegally exactly ,hit them where it hurts(*the wallet) and inconvenicence them at the same time ,they will soon learn
Mr Gobby Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 It is a good idea and should be enforced the same as inconsiderate people driving/clogging up bus lanes getting heavy fines. One in particular is at the top of Intake, across from the Fire station. If the traffic bods took time out and spent a few mornings up there they would reap in a fortune .
beansforyou Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Great idea, but whats to stop these private businesses towing away any car they like, wether it's parked illegally or not? What sort of proof are they going to have to show? As for bus lanes, I'll never understand people who sit in queues of traffic next to an empty bus lane, when the signage states it's perfectly legal to use it at that time.
