Thank you, I totally agree, Bolly is an absolute sweetie and I cannot believe she is still with us :(

If she is still with us this weekend she will be going out in the woods with my girls again :hihi: Hopefully somebody will fall in love with her. I wish I could bring them all home.

If anybody is interested in a dog and speaks to June then please mention the Forum, or if you visit the Ineedahome site, then please mention that too. Spread the word...... there's lots of dogs waiting to be loved:roll:

Bolly looks like a real sweetie :)

She is I'm going to try and persuade my mum and Dad. On the condition that I will cover all the holidays. Though I think my mum as been spoilt by not having to clean up retriever hairs for the last 5 years!

We now have another addition to our little family at the kennels. I would like to introduce you to little Marley. Marley is a black labrador, around 1 year old and neutered. I have not met him yet, this will be my pleasure on Saturday. So far I can tell you that he has lived with children and cats and seems fine with other dogs. I will update you further when we have been introduced.

Please consider one of the other dogs as previously listed. We particularly are looking for those forever homes for Bolly, Jake, Bruce and a foster home for Sam. We are also expecting the other two mature unclaimed strays who should be shortly clear with vaccinations.

As with all our dogs, if you are interested then please fill in the online application form, give June a ring and off we go.

We are always desperate for foster homes and new members are always welcome.

Please mention Sheffield Forum when you enquire

I have some good news!!! Today has been a good day at our kennels as we have managed to re-home Bolly  and AuntieBiz has fostered Roodie:love: It was lovely to see the dogs getting to know each other.

Hopefully both these beautiful dogs will soon settle with their new owners and quickly become part of the family. It certainly is the best part of working with the dogs, and you cannot beat the contentment felt when you wave off a dog in the back of a car, having met their new owners and feel you just seen a match made in heaven.

Thank you to those wonderful people who take our dogs. This is what it's about.

I said I would update details of Marley. He now has his photograph on our website and I have had the pleasure of meeting him today. He is a large black labrador who is a typical boisterous, exuberant, unruly teenager who does not yet realise their are some rules. He knows very little basic training, however I am confident that if someone is prepared to put in the work they will be rewarded with a stunner of a black lab! He is keen to learn and eager to please. He is 13 months old, neutered and will be fully vaccinated when he leaves us. He is good with people, other dogs and has lived with children.

I have also today met Percy who is a black labrador cross schnauzer aged six months. He, like Bruce, looks like a mini labrador but has a bit of a beard going on  He is a cheeky little chat, and at six months old has had little training. His new owner will need to lay down a few house rules. He is used to being left in his crate and seems very happy with this arrangement for when he is left.

Lastly I am told that Jet and Jimmy will be arriving with us on Friday. Further details to follow. Both these dogs will be for fostering as they are both in their mature years.

As with any of our dogs please visit our website. If you are interested in rehoming or adopting then please fill in an online application form and we can take it from there. If any of the current dogs take your fancy then please let June know and we will see if you seem a match.

If a labrador is not for you then please consider a rescue dog from many of the other rescue centres. Christmas is a hard time for everybody, but I am sure we would all like to get our dogs into a home for Christmas. It is very true however to remember 'a dog really is for life and not just for Christmas'. Please consider your decisions seriously and if you go ahead you will not be disappointed.

Well, we've now had Rudy (we've changed the spelling :) ) since Saturday. He is a beautiful, handsome big boy. He's getting on well with Maisie (our choc lab) and gradually getting used to the cats. He managed to snooze last night (in Maisie's bed :D ) whilst Henry (one of our 4 moggies) dozed in front of the fire so he was very good.

I can't recommend being a foster parent for Lab Welfare enough, especially if you have a penchant for Labs as we do. You get to give these dogs love and affection and in return you have the most beautiful and faithful friend. Even if they are a little windy at time. :hihi: x

Hi Aunti Biz, I had just pm'd you about the headcollar. It's great and very rewarding to see you are all settling in well. I do like the new spelling by the way. Following on from your recommendation I am about to put a new post on with two new oldies for adoption. Regarding the wind aspect... they certainly don't need to be old to produce. Millie at 18 months certainly gives Amber a run for her money at 11 years:hihi:

I am so pleased it seems to have worked out x x

We would very much like to get all of our dogs out of kennels before Christmas. I know some people say they don't know it is Christmas, however it does not seem right to have them stuck there at this time of year especially if we have another bad winter.

Unfortunately our website is not as up to date as I would like (beyond my control) however as of today the following dogs are currently still available:

:love:Bruce:love:. This little chap is a labrador cross and is described a mini black labrador. He is 2 years old and a bundle of fun. He is such a nice nature. He is good with the other dogs. He came to us very underweight and was a social services case so little information is known. He has been with us some weeks and really needs to find his forever home soon.

:love:Jet:love: Has come to us as an unclaimed stray. She is a black coloured bitch and believed to be around 8-10 years old. She does seem to have been cared for and was chipped however we were unable to trace her owner. She does not seem to have had puppies but it is unclear whether she is neutered. I have not yet met Jet as she has been at another kennels awaiting her vaccinations. I will update her details soonest.

:love:Jimmy:love: Like Jet, Jimmy has come to us as an unclaimed stray so I have not yet met him. He is also believed to be around 8-10 years old and he is yellow coloured. He has had some poorly ears for which he has received treatment. Once Jimmy and I have had a cuddle I will give you further details.

Both Jet and Jimmy are available for fostering. Any existing medical conditons are dealt with by the charity.

We currently have some enquiries we are progressing regarding Jake, Sam, Marley and Percy. Hopefully these will result in successful rehoming and adoption. Watch this space. I have also heard that the gorgeous Bolly is really settling in well.

Christmas is not too many rehoming days away and it would be brilliant to get our dogs rehomed in time for their Christmas dinner.

We still have the following dogs available for rehoming and adoption (Jimmy and Jet due to their older age)

:love:Jake despite many appeals I cannot understand why this gorgeous lad is still with us. He is a chocolate male, 4 years, not too large although he is understandably keen to go for walkies when he gets out of the kennels. Jake has been walked out with our other dogs and has been fine. Jake just needs some time spending with him to teach him the rules. It breaks my heart to see this young lad still in kennels for so long.

:love:Bruce again appears to be looked over. He is a 2 year old labrador cross and looks like a black labrador puppy. He was so think when he came to us and it is lovely to see his round little tummy now. Can you help him get his paws under your christmas table.

:love:Percyis a 6 month old black labrador cross schnauzer. He is a typical bouncy little pup who needs training and loving

:love:Jimmy is an unclaimed stray. He is thought to be between 8-10 years old and is a neutered yellow chap. He has clearly been cared for previously and is rather broad in the bean. He has been walked out with other dogs and has not been a problem.

:love:Jet is also an unclaimed stray. She is a black female and does not appear to have had pups. She has the most appealing eyes. She loves to roll in the sawdust so prefers that 'roughed up' look. Jet is thought to be between 8-10 years old and is such a lady. She does not pull on the lead and is very responsive.

If you can rehome any of these dogs then please visit our website, fill in the online application and then contact June. Let's do our best to give these beautiful dogs their forever home soon.

I have just seen from the Labrador Welfare website that Jimmy, subject of my previous post has now been reserved for adoption  I love this old boy and do hope he will get his paws under the christmas table.

From the dogs that I have previously posted as being available for rehoming and fostering there is only Jake and Bruce that remain at the kennels awaiting their forever homes, however at this time of year any potential homes will not be sought until the New Year. I truly hope that their new owners will find them soon.

Thank you for your support and best wishes for Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
