Labradors for rehoming

If anybody out there has a good home to offer a labrador then please contact Labrador Welfare who are located in Sheffield and re-home labradors for the Yorkshire and North East region.

There are always labradors seeking forever homes, who, for no fault of their own, find themselves in need of someone to look after and love them.

If you think you could offer one of these gorgeous and loyal dogs a home then this could be the site for you. The site is updated regularly, but does not reflect the up to date information so please register your details and ask.

There are labradors and labrador crosses of all ages which are looking for re-homing. There is a particular shortage of foster homes needed for the older labradors. If they come to us and have existing medical conditons then these veterinary costs will be met by the charity We pay all vet bills. Prospective foster carers pay for any vaccinations, worm and flea treatments.

You provide food, exercise and companionship.

In return you will get an undemanding friend and unconditional love.

For no apparent reason there are a couple of dogs that have been in kennels for a few weeks now and both are in need of their new home.

:love:Bolly is a beautiful and affectionate yellow labrador cross golden retriever. She is 4 years old and a big ball of fluff. She is so affectionate and loves to lay on her back for a tummy tickle. She pulls on the lead at first but then settles down and has been out with my own dogs and others from the kennels. She is a real pleasure and a super girl.

:love:Jake is a 4 year old neutered chocolate dog. He is a handsome boy, with a few distinguishing grey hairs on his chin and does not deserve to be looked over. He has been walked out and allowed to play with other dogs and not caused any problems.

If either of these super dogs are the ones for you, or if indeed you could offer a home to any labrador then please give June a ring or fill in the online application on the website. We would love to hear from you.

Unfortunately as I am a new user I am unable to put the web address on the forum, however please search for labrador welfare and this should find the home page (.org)

Bolly is beautiful and I cannot believe such a lovely dog as not been snapped up. I love retrievers and that mixed with labrador would be a nice mix. 4 is a brilliant age too for taking on a dog as they have got through the very giddy stage but still full of life and training!

Thank you for putting on the website for me. It is also nice to know that somebody else thinks Bolly is gorgeous. If my husband would allow me three beautiful girls I would have snapped her up myself. I have to settle with taking them out and the cuddles and kisses. :heyhey:

Thank you Krush I will take a look at that site and see what I can do. The more publicity the better.

I can see that many people have read this thread but unfortunately we have not yet managed to secure homes for Bolly or Jake.

We have three re-homings this weekend if all goes well, but we also have another two 'mature' labs to come in, both of these are unclaimed strays. This means that we will need foster homes for four older labradors.

Please pass around our details to any friends whom you think would be able to assist. The charity will pay their vets fees for any existing conditions for life. Please visit the website and if register your details. June will get back in touch with you if she manages to match you to a dog.

I really would like to take them all home :loopy:, but as this is not possible I help every other way I can. I really look forward to taking them for walks and cuddles.

Hopefully we will have the new photographs on our website soon.

The autumn newsletter is now there, please take a read, and ensure you have your box of tissues with you.

Overall we have had a good weekend at Labrador Welfare. Hopefully forever homes have been found for Sky, Poppy and Buster. I am sure that their new families will get hours of love in return.

Hopefully we may have found a new home for Bolly, fingers crossed , but I will let you know when this is confirmed, which will be after next weekend.

Unfortunately we have not managed to get Jake out of the kennels for his new forever home. Please dig deep and if you know a potential home please point them in our direction. :heyhey:

In terms of the dogs in our kennels at present we still have little Bruce, Roodie, Sam and two more unclaimed strays that are yet to arrive with us. All of our dogs have manged to get out into the woods as well for a well earned walk and socialising. A number of very wet and muddy but happy labs returned to their kennels.

If you think you may able to help, either with rehoming or adoption of one of the older dogs then please complete the online application on the website, this will then sit with June until she matches you to the right dog. It will save time in the long run and in turn result in the dogs spending less time in kennels.

We are always in need of help to exercise the dogs and any donations are always gratefully received. Become a member. The are some wonderful people who all give their time free of charge and this is very much appreciated. I feel priveleged to be part of a rehoming for these beautiful dogs.
