Pilon Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Woke up this morning to find a puddle in my boot of my Renault Clio. Also, the warning light now remains on indicating it's not closed properly... I'm guessing the seal has cracked or something. Any ideas what's going to be the cheapest way to sort this?
alchresearch Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Cheapest way - get a replacement seal from the scrap yard. You could try the dealers or Ebay for a new one, you might be surprised - Peugeot ones are fairly cheap so Renault may be the same. When you've got one, remove the old one and give the metal it sits on a really good clean, also checking all the channels around the boot lip are clear of dirt, leaves and debris. Put a bit of clear silicone around the metal and then pop on the new one
alchresearch Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Also make sure the drain plug under the spare wheel is present and fastened.

Renault and Peugeot won't necessarily be similar, it's Citroen and Peugeot that are part of same group. There are a couple of scapyards in Ecclesfield, also one near dog track on Penistone road and one at High Green.
