Heinz mushroom soup

is it almost impossible to find to buy these days or is it just me?

 

all the shops and supermarkets round here sell all heinz apart from mushroom, i found ONE can in one of those discount type stores in middlesbrough a while back, it was hidden in with another heinz variety, there wasnt even a mushroom section on the shelf lol

 

seems theyre making it extinct by the backdoor or thats what it seems like to me Oo

 

i normally see the other usuals such as oxtail, vegetable, tomato, chicken but never mushroom

 

 

Here you are, better than Heinz - or any other tinned.

 

 

2 leeks, chopped

 

3 garlic cloves, chopped

 

50g/2oz butter

 

300g/9 oz mushrooms, sliced

 

2 -3 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves only

 

600ml/1 pint chicken or vegetable stock

 

Preparation method

1.Sweat the leeks and garlic in the butter for 4-5 minutes or until softened.

 

2.Add the mushrooms and thyme and cook on high for 2-3 minutes.

 

3.Pour over the chicken or vegetable stock and cook for five minutes.

 

4.Blend in a food processor until smooth

Hi Mel, welcome back I've noticed the lack of mushroom soup myself, I thought i'd just gone to Tesco on the wrong day.

Got me puzzlin nah! It will drive me mad looking round the different supermarkets for Heinz mushroom soup, even though I don't want to buy any!

Just checked the Asda website - Heinz Classic Mushroom soup -- 400g @ 85p, 290g @ 74p!

 

and the Tesco website - Heinz Cream Of Mushroom soup -- 290g @ 64p, 400g @ 85p!

This won't help you very much, but in most of the local asian supermarkets here in Dubai, its one of two soups available. Mushroom and tomato are the only two that are stocked. If you want something a bit 'fancy' you have to go to Waitrose.

1) Poundland - Hillsboro

Must be just you. Asda have it in stock, as do Morrisons (I've also found the R@RE Chicken and Mushroom variety, too).

checked int he local sainsburys local near work they dont do it, all the other shops for like 10-20 miles are coops and like i said never seen it in them

 

maybe everybody round here are allergic to mushrooms so dont sell it as a health risk?
