Splitting rhubarb?

When is the best time to split my rhubarb patch? Are there any do’s and don’ts? Also, any tips on good practice please.

I'd wait a bit 'til it's fully died back and completely dormant - mine's still growing. Use a good sharp spade and try and split it in one go if you can. But to be honest it's a pretty forgiving plant.

Alternatively Hagg Lane & District Gardeners' Allotments Society have some small Rhubarb plants growing in 2.5 inch pots for a small donation to society funds.
