firthandy Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Just seen Sainsburys are planning to open another store in the former iconic midland bank / HSBC site at the top of west street. The same article also says staples office supplies have applied for a drinks licence? A "a bottle of jack and a ream of a4 paper please" http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/news/business/local-business/sainsbury_s_eyes_student_market_1_3934924 Seems strange? Do we need another Sainsburys??
Andy Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Perhaps Staples are planning on selling alcohol for the catering trade? They already sell tea, coffee, soft drinks etc for office meetings, so maybe they see a market for bottles of wine etc to go with these? It does seem odd though. As for Sainsburys, I don't see why not. Although there is already a Sainsburys near the Arts Tower isn't there?
