luckycharm77 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Just wondered what peoples views are, if they had any dealings with Gilders Vw Body Shop S6.
1978 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Used them earlier this year for insurance job. Had some minor blemishes to paintwork remedied at same time. They did a good job for me and price seemed reasonable. Biggest problem for me is I live in S17 and hadn't realised quite how long it takes to get to them!
alankearn Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Just wondered what peoples views are, if they had any dealings with Gilders Vw Body Shop S6. I had a two year old VW Polo door replaced a few years ago. They would be my first choice if I needed a repair/paint job again.
Lancs_Lad Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I had a Nissan Note repaired there about 2 years ago now that needed new wing, door panel and sill. They did a 1st rate job (insurance). I also took a car for an estimate for a minor paint repair a few weeks ago which they estimated at £700. I had the repair done at Harratts in Wakefield for £350 which I paid for myself. If you're paying for it yourself make sure you get quotes from similar bodyshops if it's insurance and you just want to know if they'll do a good job then I can only say that I would definitely not have a problem letting them repair any car of mine.
c00kie Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 If you are offered a courtesy car from them check that there is at least some kind of insurance waiver for any damage suffered under your care, otherwise you're responsible for everything. There was none at all on their contract when we were there 5 years ago. so naturally walked away.
