222Meridian Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Katy Perry's firework has a line "like the fourth of July". In America 4/7 is American Independance Day when they have lots of fireworks everywhere, but in English it isn't. I think it sounds alright if we sing it "just own the night like the Fifth of November"! I'm surprised why they aren't anyone singing a 5/11 version? Has anyone asked Katy to sing a British version herself? How many millions are British or how many millions observe this Bonfire Night in the world? Certainly there is already a place in the Midland played this tune on last night fireworks display. I also think singing such lyrics mentioning 'fireworks celebration of American Independence' isn't alright at the moment, because the British are wearing poppies at this time, and there were British soldiers sacrificed in American Independence War. Britain was defeated by the American therefore they have 4/7 celebration.
