What is it about the 'current system' which you find to be 'undemocratic and unjust'?

Is the (free) National Health Service 'undemocratic and unjust'?

Is (free) primary and secondary education 'undemocratic and unjust'?

Are handouts to those who are too lazy to get off their arses and find themselves a job (even if that means becoming 'self employed') undemocratic and unjust?

I suppose it depends on who you ask.

Some people never stop asking. They don't seem to realise that you have to pay in if you want to take out. If you don't, there's no money for those who want to take out.

Look at it in the context of the money supply. There is unemployment for a reason, it is structurally built into the system.

If the Lib Dems had put election promises before power, and made intelligent use of the fantastic chance they had, the public would have handed them AV on a plate. They have no one else to blame. People have more respect for Simon Cowell than Nick Clegg.

If those who said the supported the LibDems had voted for them............

They got the best chance they were ever likely to get, and they blew it, I'm afraid.

That is an issue especially when it comes to "specialisms" - areas of specialist knowledge

However lets not forget..

How many times might someone in middle management say "things work so much better when the directors are away"? as they are so keen to prove their worth

If the middle management is away an enterprising junior will take on the burden and make sure things run shipshape

If the junior manager is away a senior shop floor worker will step up..

and so on

If the cleaner is away then no-one steps up to clean the toilets, floors, canteen etc, and unless a stand-in is found the HSE shuts the entire company down for unhygienic working conditions.

So why is one of the most important roles within a company deemed of so little value?

(my bold)

Because the role doesn't need what you mention in your opening line?

In reality, it isn't one of the most important roles at all. In fact it is a role that any business can do without if the other people wished it. That's why it is generally poorly paid, but that isn't to say that it is without value.

Occupy Sheffield stands together with occupations all over the world; we are the 99%.

No you aren't. Stop pretending that you're hard done by.

Make a point, but don't make that one. It sounds utterly ridiculous.

Occupy Sheffield stands together with occupations all over the world; we are the 99%. We are a peaceful non-hierarchical forum. We're in agreement that the current system is undemocratic and unjust. We need alternatives; you are invited to join us in debate and developing them; to create a better future for everyone.

Debate involves listing to other points of view. As you persist in your infuriating claim that you "are the 99%", I can only conclude that you are not, in fact, willing or able to carry out a debate.

Shame.

You're not the 99%, that's why there are only a handful of you. And you are protesting outside a church FFS, if you're going to do something at least do it properly. No wonder this country is ****ed, people protesting about capitalism are doing it outside a frigging church.

It was an interesting story at first, but people are now losing interest in the Occupy movement as it becomes obvious they have nothing to say. Time and again the question has been asked "What's your alternative to capitalism?" and still the answer is a mumbled "err.....we don't know.....but...er...look at all the things we're against!"

1% owns 99% of the worlds land and resources. If that doesn't bother you then go back to watching X Factor... it's all good. You are free to do what they tell you to do!

Why should it bother me? It's been the case for years!

I can freely go about my business and earn enough money to enjoy a comfortable life without feeling oppressed by who owns land and resources. It has no impact on my life at all.

So what are you getting all worked up and having your little tantrum about?

So are you happy for... Wars to be paid for with your tax money while the poorest in our society get poorer. Banks to be bailed out and the debt transferred to the people... the 1% continue to get richer while people are loosing their homes. The richest people and companies in our country not paying their share of tax.

You are clearly going about this all wrong. You are inviting debate on what is the alternative after protesting about the current system.

Ridiculous. When you have a viable alternative idea then protest and bring it to the table. Because at present the only one that works (be it not very well) is the current one.

And as for this 'discussion' it will usually involve a lot of left wingers and communists thinking the only solution is to nationalise everything destroy the banking system and replace it with some sort of hippy commune.

It didnt work in Russia (we eventually had facism ie Stalin)

It doesnt work in North Korea

Paris Commune failed.

So my message is come up with something that works or stop squatting and causing a mess.
