I live in S8 and it is worrying but April would make my life hell if she wasn't allowed to go out so I have to take the risk. I'm always relieved when she comes home, luckily she never goes far. Hope all the missing cats turn up soon, their owners must be going out of their minds with worry!

I used to live in S8 and several of my cats went missing. We found out that it was an old lady who would take cats in that she didnt recognise thinking they were strays. All i know is that she lives at Greenhill, ( Reney Ave )

There have been reports of people shooting cats and poisoning them in the S8 area. One of my patient's lost her cat to poisoning in S8. It managed to make it home but had to be pts as it was in a terrible state. There are reports from Doncaster that a large number of cats that have gone missing and they believe that a dog fighting ring have picked them up. I saw this in one of the cats magazines that I picked up from Pets at Home. The Cat's Protection League are advising people to keep their cats in at night. They say that if you with hold their evening meal and feed them just before you go to bed they will get into the habit of coming in at a certain time.

On a more positive note one of my cats (who appeared perfectly happy and settled) just upped sticks and moved in with an old lady a mile down the road!! Had I not searched high and low and leafletted through every single door within a mile radius of my home I would've never found the little toad. The old lady still has my cat to this day, but at least I know it's safe and happy and I go for visits on a weekly basis!! I guess what I'm trying to say is...bad things happen to cats, but it doesn't mean yours is missing for a bad reason. Don't lose hope, and other cat owners in S8 need to take extra care

Has anyone contacted any local newspapers or anything about all these missing cats? I tried contacting active 8 magazine but they wern't interested :( Maybe if more people got in touch they might include something though?
