Hi,

just wanted to get some opinions on Beech Hill Nursery in Broomhill. Thinking of putting my baby there at 4 months for a day or two a week and wanted some feedback from parents who have babies or kids there on the quality of the nursery. Also any tips on other nurseries local to Crookes/Broomhill would be great. Thanks!

Friends kids go to Beech Hill and are happy with it. Ours go to creative kids nursery on Broomgrove road by king teds swimming pool and would recommend that. Lovely garden and soft play centre. Its quite a small nursery so not too noisy and boisterous,. Best thing to do is go and look round a couple and get a feel for them as its a very personal choice.

Our son (nearly 2) is in Sunshine Day Nursery at the bottom end of Beech Hill Road, and is very happy there. It's NHS owned, but open to all. If you're looking for nurseries in the area, definitely go and have a look.

I've done volunteer work at Beech Hill and would avoid it like the plague, it's an awful place!

Had good experiences at The Old School House on Endcliffe Rise Road, Children 1st @ breedon house (very good baby room) and sunshine day Nursery on beech hill road.

wayeye and Toni, could you say a bit more about what is bad about it? I really liked it on my first visit and I'm going back next week so I'd like to know what to look out for. You can message me if you'd rather not say in public.

My friend sent both his children there (my daughter is at Fairmount across the road-ish), and his kids both loved Beech Hill. He doesn't have a bad word to say about it.

Thanks Moosey that's good to know. Fairmount is another one we're considering, what's it like there?

Fantastic. My little girl seems really happy there - all smiles when we arrive, and when we pick her up. She's coming on really well too - they clearly put time in with them. I can't fault them.

I'd definitely recommend having a look round there. Check out the OFSTED reports too.

(If you happen to work for the NHS by the way, I know Fairmount have a discount scheme. Perhaps the others do too.)
