Sagan1 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Hi, I was wondering does anybody know what the church is/was called at the top of Kent Road in Heeley Green. I believe it is now a nursery or creche. Thanks.

Plain Talker Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I'm after the name of the Church when it was a Church. it was the Sally-Army wasn't it?
Sagan1 Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Yeh the Sally Ann came from that church but it has got to have a name.
Plain Talker Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Sally-Army chapels never had names, and they were not dedicated to any saints, they were called things like "Heeley Division", Park Corps or "Stocksbridge Corps". The one in town was called the "Citadel" as it was the senior place of worship in the area. that's now on Psalter lane.
horribleblob Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Kent Road Chapel was opened in 1896, first known as "The Adams Memorial Hall", it was later used by the Salvation Army.
