MrSmith Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Unfortunately the OP had discredited their own post by the fifth word WOW it took you a long time, I just read the user name and realised it would be a lot of crap so didn't bother reading the OP.
Supertramp Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 But if you're a swivel eyed wingnut not only does Gordon Brown seem like a Marxist, but I've read on here that Hitler was a left winger too, seriously!!! Hitler was a left winger. Everyone knows that?
alchresearch Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Perhaps the OP could link the quotes to particular posters and threads to verify their accuracy and see they haven't been taken out of context?
epiphany Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. - W. Churchill Yes, Churchill was about as ignorant of the breadth of socialist thought as many posters on this forum. He, like so many, was talking about authoritarian forms of STATE socialism and the Soviet experiment, the kind of dystopia portrayed in George Orwell's 1984, which now absurdly has a monopoly over the definition of socialism.

Without oppressive state controls, socialism is an unworkable daydream - the reality of human nature is that we are not all equal, of equal worth of equal value to society. We all find our level in a free society which allows those with skill and drive to prosper while the lazy or inept fail to do so.
Conrod Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I do find a lot of Tory supporters on forums rather shrill, unimaginative, prone to hectoring and to making personal attacks. I find a lot of the Labour supporters very much the same. It's a bit like parliament really.I really do see far more of the personal stabs coming from the left than the right - left wingers seem to be under the impression that anything right of Tony Blair is pure evil and therefore open to all the name-calling they can think of.
WeX Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 See what I was saying about Tory supporters above.......:hihi: You say that like its a bad thing

We all find our level in a free society which allows those with skill and drive to prosper while the lazy or inept fail to do so. Some socialist schools don't believe in equality of outcome or that everyone is of equal value. Many socialists advocate free markets and profit on a co-operative basis. Some see it purely as an economic philosophy, not a model of social justice. Since we all know capitalism is unsustainable, you either accept the collapse of society or you read up about the alternatives, which tend to combine elements of socialism and capitalism. The only daydreaming is done by those who believe we can continue forever with the current system.

Magilla Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Do you mean the forth word? Indeed, he's his own worst enemy!
